YOGA & MEDITATION YOUTUBE CHANNELS FOR LANGUAGE LEARNERS
Many of us understand the importance of self-care and taking time for ourselves whether it be fitness, meditation, yoga, or whatever that looks like for you. Inspired by a recent video on your YouTube channel How to Combine Language Learning and Self Care, we want to share our top recommended YT channels to help you become more exposed to specific target languages while also taking that well-deserved time for yourself. These channels can help you improve your vocabulary by learning wellness terms and even how to talk about movement in different parts of the body, and in some cases while being active.
Marine- French
This channel is primarily for yoga and guided meditation along with her Off The Mat podcast recordings. These videos are great for beginners and, on average, no more than 30 minutes (right before brain fatigue sets in!)
Mady Morrison- German
A great channel for German learners wanting to practice yoga. Mady speaks at an even pace making it easy for you to follow her instructions. Her voice is so calming that you don’t think about what you don’t understand.
Yoga met Milou- Dutch
This channel is great for even beginners to follow along since Dutch is not the easiest language to learn. Milou even has “Yoga Talks” so you can practice your listening comprehension skills.
Chloé Bloom - French
This channel was found after discovering her podcast (which you can find in the French section of our podcast listing). She creates yoga/meditation videos and talks about self-love, spirituality, and all things wellness.
La Scimmia Yoga- Italian
A great channel to practice yoga at a beginner’s level and practice your Italian simultaneously. They create videos for different areas you want to focus on with your body and have a few videos to inform you on different yoga-related topics.
Denise Dellagiacoma- Italian
This channel is described to be for “yoga, pilates, meditation, and lifestyle” so if yoga is not your thing, there are other fitness videos you can find and you see get to know her through her Q&As and vlogs.
DaleYogaATuVida- Spanish
Practice your Spanish while doing yoga! This channel has a variety of playlists depending on what you’re looking for and the videos, generally, aren’t longer than 25 to 30 minutes. Be aware that the accent/dialect may be different than the Spanish you’re used to.
Xuan Lan Yoga- Spanish
While you’re practicing your Spanish, you’re also able to try out a new form of yoga that might be different than what you already practice. There are some videos on meditation, nutrition, and more. Be aware that the accent/dialect may be different than the Spanish you’re used to.
Yoga avec Florence Piers- French
This is the last but not least channel we’re recommending, but Florence has videos for different parts of the body you may want to work on as well as some yoga challenges for managing emotions and being disciplined in your practice.
We hope these channels are useful and these sources can also be found in our recommended youtube channels list under the entertainment resources tab. Self-care is very important in maintaining our own health and combining that with what you already do in your daily life should help you move forward in your language proficiency process.
